The Sick-Leaves is the solo project of established rock artist Eksteen Jacobsz from Pretoria, South Africa with The Sick-Leaves having twice been nominated for a South Africa Music Award in the category of Best Alternative Album: English (2007 & 2009). Eksteen Jacobsz who is the songwriter, vocalist, bassist and guitarist for The Sick-Leaves. The Sick-Leaves perform live as a three-piece.

The Sick-Leaves have performed at South Africa's premier music festivals such as Oppikoppi (2007 & 2009), Rocking the Daisies, Synergy Live, Splashy Fen, Ramfest Jo'burg as well as Pinkie Fest, Vrede Fest III, St Stithians College arts festival and regular gigs around the country.

The Sick-Leaves have two music videos on rotation on South African satellite music station MK & one on rotation on MTV Europe. The music video 'All These Foolish Things (I've said)' was nominated for a 2010 MK Award in the category of Best Animation SFX

The Sick-Leaves have performed three times on the MK live show 'Studio 1' and interviewed on My MK Celeb. The Sick-Leaves performed on national radio station 5FM's (Live)5 show at the end of January 2010 to showcase the new material which was broadcast nationally and on audio streaming. The Sick-Leaves song 'All These Foolish Things (I've said)' was used as the soundtrack for a national tv and radio advertisement.

Renowned producer Darryl Torr produced the third album Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy at SABC's M5 studios with the album having been released in March 2010. Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy has been well received by music critics in South Africa with features on many South African blogs, newspapers, magazines along with radio and tv features.
